For cities around the world, considering intervention in idle urban innovation, probably through the Internet of Things (IoT) has become imperative. The phenomenon problem of trust is mainly concerned with the protection of information which is incredibly critical in a situation when a massive amount of data is collected using IoT devices. Hence, smart city programs should focus on the development of strong security measures.

Furthermore, there is a chance to create inequalities since some segments of the society may lack the technologies that enable smart city services. The involvement of city planners in the equitable distribution of these new technologies is very critical since all residents need to enjoy the benefits bought by IoT.

Finally, the Internet of Things has a great potential in changing the way urban areas are functionalized and managed in a way that they are more efficient and environmentally friendly while complying with the demands of the residents.
